My name is Adelina Nunez. I'm creating a blog that will consist of Oso, my rottweiler's, and Drap, my pitbull's, behavior as nature revolves around them. It's obvious that a dog's behavior is impacted by their surroundings. I'm going to do my best to try to determine their behavior on different days with diferent climates by following them and observing their every move about five times a week during the same hour each day. This will all take place in Sun Valley,NV.

Different Reactions
Drap is such a two face, one minute he's wagging his tail as I talk to him and once anyone comes around with food he completely ignores me. In fact, when he's distracted by food he looks right through me.The moment he looks past me I try to do anything to get his attention because it annoys me when he ignores me. I usually just get in front of him every instant he trys to turn in a different direction and pull on his cheeks like I did today. Of course this doesn't work instead I feel like I'm annoying him but that's okay. Absolutely nothing seems to work until I myself begin to eat snacks (cookies) to be exact. The other day I was eating soup and for some strange reason as I got up to do something I didn't think twice about leaving my food where it was in Drap's reach. Later that day when I went back to finish my food I noticed Drap was looking at me with such a guilty expression. Since he put the doleful look into action I knew right then and there that he had done something wrong. He ate the remainder of my food! It almost seems as if he places himself in the upset dog posture to avoid confrontation because it appears he does this every time he's about to get yelled at.
He's currently looking at a cookie.

This reminds me so much of my dog because he always ignores me when it comes down to picking either me or food!
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly how my dogs are around food. It's kind of a good thing because I can bribe them easily with food though. I also think that a dogs breed has an effect on their behavior too because my dogs are different breeds and they are complete opposites.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you decribe Drap as "two faced" it helps me see how you are trying to describe him ignoring you. Does he only pay attention to you when it's human food or can it be dog treats too?
ReplyDeletemy dog also ignores me and i noticed everyone said the same thing so i guess all dogs would pick food over the owners love ha
